Jessica Simpson Posts Pics of Her Chic Hairstyle on Twitter

April 12, 2010 4 comments

Last night, while onboard a flight to Atlantic City, Jessica Simpson and Ken Paves (her hairstylist and BFF) shared photos of her sporting a new chic hairstyle via Twitter. Ken uploaded the photos to his Twitter account, while Jessica tweeted, ”In flight hairdo fun!”

Is Jessica Simpson over her long, blonde locks? Not exactly. This isn’t a permanent style for Jess. Apparently, it’s just a wig. Real or not, what do you think of this look on Jessica?

See Jessica Simpson With No Makeup on the Cover of Marie Claire

April 10, 2010 Leave a comment

Jessica Simpson on the Cover of Marie Claire Magazine with no MakeupJessica Simpson goes without any makeup or photo retouching for the May cover of Marie Claire magazine. According to Bella Sugar, she is sporting the natural look after traveling the world for her VH1 show The Price of Beauty, where she has set out to learn what defines beauty and see what makes women feel beautiful in other cultures. She has also launched a new initiative called “A Beautiful Me,” in which she is leading self-esteem conferences that empower youth to identify their inner beauty, be more confident with themselves and realize that they can make a difference. Shared by Bella Sugar, below are a few quotes from Jessica featured in the May issue of Marie Claire.

  • On her newfound confidence: “I don’t have anything to prove anymore. What other people think of me is not my business.”
  • On her preferred hairstyles: “If I’m in a mood to go out and feel hot and sexy, I want long hair that I can feel on my back. But I also like bed head.”
  • On her hair regimen: “I’ll usually wash my hair and let it air-dry wavy, but if I’m just in a hang-out mood, I won’t even wash it. I’ll wait until it smells.”

Heidi Montag Flaunts “Her Girls” Wearing Risque Dress on Jay Leno

March 22, 2010 2 comments

Heidi Montag, a Colorado native and known for her role in the MTV series “The Hills,” appeared as a guest on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” Friday, talking about her recent spoof video “Say No to Plastic” for Funny or Die (check it out here) as well as her new role in Ron Howard’s upcoming comedy “Just Go With It,” starring Jennifer Aniston, Adam Sandler and Nicole Kidman. Really? Now she’s landing movie gigs?

Heidi Montag on the Cover of February 2010 People MagazineFor those who’ve been in the dark or haven’t seen the February issue of People Magazine, Montag (age 23) recently underwent ten plastic surgery procedures in one day. Interestingly enough, she told Leno on Friday that she’s not addicted to plastic surgery since an addiction “is something you do every day.” When asked by Leno if there’s anything else she would change, she said, “I would get [my breasts] bigger, but I legally can’t right now.” Apparently, there’s a 800 cc limit, and she’s had 700. Leno also asked if it’s painful, in which she responded, “It’s excruciating, but beauty is pain. That’s what they say.”

I couldn’t disagree more with the girl. Beauty shouldn’t be painful, nor is she a good example of beauty. The Heidi Montag from Crested Butte, CO, prior to the Hollywood scene, was much more beautiful. Check out the interview below (and her risque dress that she designed just for Jay). Warning: This interview is somewhat painful to watch.

Celebs Not Only Invited But Paid to Attend Fashion Shows

February 7, 2010 Leave a comment

How much would you love to attend a fashion show at New York Fashion Week? Well, not only are many celebrities invited, but they’re often paid big bucks to sit in the front row! Fashionista tapped industry insiders to learn how much A, B and C-list celebrities get paid to sit in the front row at many top fashion shows.

According to Fashionista, Rihanna rakes in $100,000 or more, followed by Beyonce ($80,000-$100,000) and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen ($80,000 each). B-List celebrities vary from $10,000-$50,000. And for Paris Hilton? Well, like us, she’s lucky if she gets an invite. Take a peak below at what some A-list celebs are earning to sit front row. Click over to fashionista for the full list.

Naomi Campbell Charity Fashion Show for Haiti

A-List
Rihanna ($100,000 or more)
Beyonce ($80,000-$100,000)
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen ($80,000 each)
Julianne Moore ($60,000)
Maggie Gyllanhal ($60,000)
Chloe Sevigny ($60,000 or more)
Jennifer Lopez (circa 2005: $80,000; circa 2010: $30,000)
Lindsay Lohan (circa 2006: $60,000; circa 2010; UNINVITED)
Colin Firth (pre-A Single Man: $5,000; post-A Single Man: $15,000)

With that said, there is one upcoming fashion show where celebs probably won’t earn top dollars for sitting front row. Naomi Campbell is planning a fashion show in NYC on February 12 during fashion week to benefit Haiti. Although many celebrities are expected to attend and model in the show, it’s open to the public (i.e. regular folk like you and me who usually can’t get in the doors). Tickets went on sale yesterday on Ticketmaster.com for $100-$150. Proceeds are expected to reach $100,000.

SPANX Slimming Swimsuits Set to Arrive in January

January 19, 2010 3 comments

Women swear by the SPANX hosieries, confirming that they actually “eliminate lumps and bumps, trim your tummy and smooth your silhouette.” And when Kim Kardashian was asked what fashion item she couldn’t live without in Life & Style Weekly, her response was “Spanx. Need I say more?”

So why wouldn’t the shapewear company launch a swimwear line? Well SPANX fans, wait no longer.

The SPANX collection currently includes everything from hosiery to socks to body shapers to bras and panties to slimming lingerie to apparel (including pants, tops, tanks, and skirts). But come January 2010, just in time for spring break, the collection will expand to include swimwear made of its patented shapewear technology. We’ll have to wait a few months before finding out which celebs flaunt the new SPANX swimwear. However, below are a few pieces from the current SPANX collection worn by some of your favorite celebs, thanks to HerRoom.

Black Lace.

January 15, 2010 Leave a comment

No, this isn’t my bra color, which is what some of you might be thinking after many women (and men?) updated their Facebook statuses with their bra color last week in the name of breast cancer.

What I’m referring to are these lace nails. Celebrity manicurist, Elle from Barielle, created this look by layering lace fabric on the nail with nail adhesive, and models have been spotted flaunting it down the runway since. Learn how to give yourself a lace manicure from Splendicity’s Makeup Minute.

What you’ll need: nail polish remover, Gel Resin (available at beauty supply stores), a thin piece of lace, Brush-On Nail Glue (available at beauty supply stores), pair of small embroidery scissors.

Would you “lace up” your nails for a special occasion, just as Jennifer Lopez did at the VMAs last fall?

Taylor Swift Has Many Styles

The 19-year-old country music singer truly is talented (and is known to turn heads with her sense of fashion and style). She’s sold out shows, won numerous awards,  hosted Saturday Night Live, appeared on the cover of magazines such as Allure, Self, Glamour, Teen Vogue, People…the list goes on.

Even John Mayer speaks highly of the young artist and included her in a track on his new album. John Mayer tells Access Hollywood’s Maria Menounos in an interview, “I don’t normally make records to share tracks with people. I’ve never had somebody’s name underneath the title of my song and I couldn’t be happier that she’s on there.”

In addition to her red carpet style adored by her fans, she’s also not afraid to change up her singing “style” either.

Who could forget her opening act “Thug Story” at the 2009 CMT Music Awards with T-PainCheck it out here…it’s worth it. My favorite line?  “You don’t wanna fight me…in my extra small white T.”
